National Cancer Institute
During their time at The JBG Companies, Network principals successfully competed for a major pre-lease requirement involving the National Cancer Institute (NCI). The project team effectively navigated the demands of multiple stakeholders and provided NCI an ideal location on the Johns Hopkins Campus in Montgomery County’s Shady Grove Life Science Center. The dynamic design of the building and floor plates was planned for optimal efficiency and flexibility to accommodate NCI’s rapidly changing needs. This design flexibility proved beneficial when the tenant’s data center requirements increased to exceed base building specifications, thus requiring the addition of larger generators and increased capacity for chilled water storage. Network’s team skillfully accommodated these changes, delivering the building 76 days ahead of schedule and three percent below the original project budget. The project was financed in an innovative fashion by Raymond James using Taxable Lease Revenue Bonds which were rated by Standard & Poors.
